Arts Fest
ArtsFest is Downtown Bennington’s annual celebration of public art, creativity, and collaboration — and a reflection of the Better Bennington Corporation’s direct investment in placemaking.
Produced by the BBC’s Downtown Design Committee, ArtsFest highlights the organization’s hands-on role in bringing art into everyday public spaces throughout downtown.

Public Art in Action
The BBC is directly involved in shaping Downtown Bennington’s artistic landscape through meaningful partnerships and artist collaborations:
Wooden Barn Quilts Project — In collaboration with regional artists, the BBC helped produce and install custom-designed wooden barn quilts now displayed throughout downtown. These colorful installations celebrate Vermont’s heritage while adding visual vibrancy to Main Street and surrounding areas.
Partnership with NBOSS (North Bennington Outdoor Sculpture Show) — Through a partnership with NBOSS, sculptures are featured along the Downtown Riverwalk, expanding access to outdoor art and creating an engaging cultural experience along the water.
These projects reflect BBC’s belief that public art strengthens identity, enhances walkability, and creates memorable experiences for both residents and visitors.
A Regional Celebration of Creativity
ArtsFest builds upon this foundation by bringing together local and regional art institutions, galleries, and creative organizations — often referred to as “art houses” — to share their best practices for community engagement.
Representatives from across the region participate in the event, offering:
Hands-on art activities for all ages
Interactive demonstrations
Creative workshops and educational experiences
Artist meet-and-greet opportunities
Rather than simply viewing art, attendees are invited to create, experiment, and engage.
